This is my view from the balcony of my bedroom in Boulder, where I do all of my trainer rides. As you can see, when I say the Rocky Mountains start “right in my backyard”, I’m not exaggerating at all. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
The photo on top is the view to the west (the Rockies… duh), and the photo on the bottom is the view to the east (the high plains).
It also gives you an idea of one of the reasons Boulder is such an amazing training location. If you want to train on flat land, you just go east. If you want to be doing massive climbs in the mountains, you just head west. The plains and the mountains are each within 3 minutes of my front door, by bike.
